HEADER

The 12-row corn header ZhK-12 is aggregated with the GS2124 combine harvester.

Corn header ZhK-12

The header is designed to separate cobs from corn stalks, feed the cobs to the conveyor of the combine's feeder housing, cut the stalks, crush and spread the leafy mass across the field.

The header includes:

  • frame;
  • channels with drive gearboxes, cob-separating rollers, transport chains and rotary cutting devices;
  • auger with a safety clutch;
  • mechanism for hanging on the combine's feeder housing;
  • drive of working parts;
  • stubble bending device;
  • polymer dividers;
  • protective fences.

Main innovative solutions applied in the design of the header

The header uses a direct drive of the channels using reliable cylindrical gearboxes instead of chain drives.

Drive gearbox

The corn cob stripping rollers of the channels are equipped with cutting knives in combination with ribbed pulling bars, allowing for reliable pulling and chopping of the stalks, separating and not damaging the cob.

The new channel gearboxes have a reduced weight in comparison with the serial ones.

Rotary cutting device

The adjustment of the corn-ripping plates is carried out using a hydraulic cylinder from the combine cabin, for visual control of the adjustment of the plates, an indicator is mounted on the upper beam of the header.

To improve the technological process, traction chains with special links are used in the header channels.

Traction chains

To prevent the combine harvester tires from wearing out due to corn stubble, a stubble bending device is installed on the header.

Stubble bending device

To improve the process of pulling the stalks and reducing the loss of cobs, the angle of the channels to the horizon was reduced from 24° to 17°.

To prevent the transfer of plant mass particles, a mesh fence was installed above the upper beam of the frame and a visor was installed above the auger.

Rotation between the channels is transmitted using cam clutches instead of chain clutches, increasing reliability.

The improved design of the plastic covers ensures a stable supply of cobs to the auger of the header.

Improved design of plastic covers

The header design includes a mobile rack, which allows the header to be aggregated with different combine harvesters.

Mobile rack

The header design uses drive cardan shafts with cam safety clutches and a fork rotation mechanism.
